The rates for my different editing processes do change project to project and will be communicated in our initial email exchange. So I can’t give you a blanket statement of a price for any particular job because there are multiple variables, but this is how the math works.
Most of my services come out to be $12 -$15 an hour.
Many editors operate on a certain price per word but I chose a per hour rate instead.
Example:
A Developmental Edit of an 80,000 word manuscript at $12 an hour would come out to be $960. (The Industry standard rate for Developmental Editing is between$0.03-$0.04 per word, which comes out to$2,400)
